Fresh Mulch and Bed Cleanup That Sharpens a Front Yard

A front yard can look tired fast. Overgrown shrubs, weeds creeping through the beds, and old mulch that's lost its color - it adds up. The whole front of the house starts to feel neglected even when the rest of the property is well-kept. That's exactly what we were dealing with here.

We started by clearing the beds - pulling weeds, cutting back the shrubs, and trimming the cherry tree to give it a cleaner shape. Once everything was tidied up, we laid down fresh dark mulch across all the beds. That dark contrast against the green shrubs and the home's siding is what makes the whole yard feel intentional and sharp.

The beds along the front entry got the same treatment. Clean edges, freshly trimmed foundation shrubs shaped into tight, rounded forms, and dark mulch packed in evenly throughout. Small landscape lighting fixtures are already in place, so once everything settled, the whole entry just looked polished.

Fresh mulch does more than improve curb appeal. It holds moisture in the soil, keeps weeds down, and helps protect plant roots - especially useful heading into the hotter stretches of summer. It's one of those services that looks great immediately and keeps working for months.

We're also planning to bring in new azaleas to add a pop of color to the beds. The groundwork is laid - literally. Clean beds, healthy trimmed plants, and fresh mulch give new plantings the best possible start.
